I know how hard it is to be suffering and not know how to get out of it. Not all of us were blessed with families that know how to love us for who we are. That experience can manifest as negative self-talk and behaviors that influence how we see ourselves (not to mention what we see outside of ourselves.) The sad thing is that we don’t even know we’re doing it. Most of us who grew up in conditions like this long to be seen, heard, and understood. Under the right circumstances, this can be the start to a whole new perspective on life.

I was very fortunate to be trained in mindfulness meditation by Thich Nhat Hanh and his community. 25 years later, those teachings inform every aspect of my life. It's now well known that mindfulness is a foundational element for consciousness, change and mental health. It is deeply incorporated into my psychotherapy practice. How will you be seen and understood without it?
During a particularly painful time in my life, I was fortunate to work with an excellent therapist. His ability to compassionately see what I couldn't, changed my life forever. He seemed to know me better than I knew myself. I can't think of work that matters more than helping people to suffer less through anxiety and depression treatments. I pursued my master's degree in psychology the following year.
I know what it's like to wonder if you will ever get better. There is a way out! Life is not always easy. How you respond to it makes a big difference in your sense of contentment and happiness. You deserve to suffer less.
